I sold my kayaks\/trailers for them, RV, large outdoor equipment I could be without about 3-6 months before the move. Then I organized smaller things to sell in waves, so they are distributed in time and I can manage the process. Listing things for around 1\/3 of the price new seems to be a sweet spot, some stuff in excellent condition and reasonable demand can sell for 1\/2 of the price new. I posted more expensive items on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, and les expensive – on Facebook only, as they seem to sell faster there. If you have niche items, be ready to sell them really really cheap, or give them away for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Moving is not a financially beneficial activity, be ready to recoup just a very small portion of your belongings you manage to sell. I plan to sell our cars about a week before the move, and rent something for the last week, preferably something that I can return at the airport – did not research what is available, I may need something too big to fit all the bags, so may rent a minibus just for the ride to the airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
